Festival of Lights in a darkened world.

We pray for triumph over the evil in the world.

Summon Kali.

The Divine Mother who slays our ego

Within and without.

We have forgotten the wisdom of the ancients.

We murder children in their sleep

We bomb schools, hospitals and refugee camps.

We target women, children and civilians.

And we claim to do this in the name of God and our religion.

My prayer and only hope

Is that the broken men who lead this genocide of values

Making communities slaughterhouses

Are stopped in their tracks.

Arise the rainbow warriors of peace.

Let us silence the guns

Still the voices of the overlords of war.

Who profiteer from violence.

Let the moral and virtuous speak the Truth.

That war must end in Palestine.

And all people guaranteed their birthright to self-determination.

So that children from all faiths, religions, races can start to live, play and work together to end the senselessness.

That is my prayer on this auspicious day.
